The Fact of Resurrection

1 Corinthians 15:1-19

Sheep and Goats
How do we distinguish the sheep from the goats?
(Matthew 7:20; John 15:8)

Fruitlessness ≠ Faithfulness

Timeless Truth: Jesus will not be Savior where He is not Lord.

When people reject any portion of Scripture, they effectively reject it all.
(James 1:22)

Whenever someone places their own opinions, or feelings, or experiences,
above the Word of God, they have departed from biblical Christianity.

(Galatians 5:1-2; 1 Thessalonians 5:14)

The Significance of Resurrection
If there is no bodily resurrection, then Jesus Christ has not been resurrected from the dead.

If there is no physical resurrection of the dead, the whole gospel story is a lie.

Christianity without the resurrection is a religion without content.

If the truth is that the dead do not rise; not only is Christ not risen, and our preaching empty, but we are blasphemers!
If all of that is the case, then our faith is worthless! (v17)

That means that we have no forgiveness of our sins, nor do we have any hope of forgiveness! We are still lost and without hope!
Our condition is terminal, we have no hope of recovery, and nothing better awaits us!

That would mean that all of our Christian virtues; all of our self-sacrificing; all of our Bible study; is worthless!

(Matthew 20:17-19)

Without the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have no hope for the future.
But, in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have great hope for the future!

In the power of the resurrection, we find victory over evil!
(Romans 6:1-14)

Am I walking daily in resurrection power?
